# Delete Report

> Delete a report with its columns, rows and cells.

> **Preview.** This endpoint is available to organisations in the Wordsmith MCP pilot. Other organisations receive `403 mcp_not_enabled`. See the [preview overview](/preview).

Deletes a report with all its columns, rows and cells. A run in progress stops, and its operation ends as `cancelled`. The files behind the rows, the repository they follow, and any exported files are not deleted.

This endpoint is REST only. No MCP tool deletes a report.

## Authentication

Requires an API key, or an OAuth token with `reports:write`. The caller also needs permission to delete the report, which in the app is the owner's and an admin's.

## Path parameters

**report\_id** `string` *required*

The report id.

## Response

Returns `204` with no body.

## Errors

| Status | `error_code` | When |
| - | - | - |
| 403 | `forbidden` | The caller can read the report but cannot delete it. |
| 404 | `resource_not_found` | No report with this id, or the caller cannot read it. |
